On July 13th, watchRasta had the honour of documenting a sacred and powerful gathering – the Yeshimebet Holistic Care Day, hosted at the historic House of Dread, 3 Deanery Road, Kingston. A space deeply rooted in culture, music, and Rastafari legacy, House of Dread became the ideal backdrop for a day of wellness, ancestral remembrance, and community care.

For us at watchRasta, this wasn’t just content – this was a continuation of our mission: to highlight rootical living in its truest form. The work of the Yeshimebet Holistic Care Foundation aligns with our ethos of upliftment, healing, and cultural preservation, and so our cameras and presence were there not just to report, but to reverently witness.

What Went Down at Care Day

Yeshimabet Holistic Care Day was a full-circle offering of love and restoration. The foundation brought together therapists, herbalists, bodyworkers, healers, entertainers, social workers, medical aid, sponsors and supporters – all volunteering their gifts to serve the underserved in Kingston particularly the Aged/Elderly.

The services were free. The energy? Priceless.

Here’s what we captured:

Healing through touch – massage, energy alignment, and safe space therapy Sacred plant food – ital nourishment prepared on-site with intentionality and cultural flavour Children’s corner – play, support, and joy flowing freely among the little ones

Brotherly support – strong arms and willing hands from men who showed up for set-up, clean-up, and care

Sisterhood in motion – the quiet choreography of women working in harmony to nurture one another

All of this unfolded within the walls and grounds of House of Dread – a space that holds years of cultural resistance, reasoning, and Rastafari reverence.

Why Was WatchRasta There?

WatchRasta exists to document the living, breathing CULTURE, especially through the lens of Rastafari and grassroots efforts. We don’t chase hype – we follow vibration. And the vibration at Yeshimebet Care Day was undeniable.

By offering content support, WatchRasta helped amplify the impact of the work being done – capturing the joy, reverence, unity, and legacy at play. Our coverage aims to preserve not just the visual, but the spiritual essence of the event, so that others may feel it, even if they weren’t there.

A Gathering of Purpose and Power

This was not a wellness fair. It was a call to remember – the medicine in our hands, the wisdom in our herbs, the strength in our people, and the importance of community-based care. The stories shared, the tears released, the laughter that echoed through the yard – all are part of the cultural fabric we at WatchRasta are committed to weaving together.

Yeshimebet Foundation reminds us that healing is not a trend. It’s tradition.

Give Thanks and Move Forward

We give thanks to the Yeshimebet team for their trust and for the divine work they continue to do in Jamaica. watchRasta will always stand with initiatives that center wellness, culture, community, and roots consciousness.

If you missed the day, stay tuned. Our captured moments will be released across our platforms – not just as images, but as a testimony to what happens when we come together to care for one another.
